About Jennifer

Jennifer Austin is a multimedia journalist at KBJR-TV in Duluth, Minn. As an MMJ, Jennifer shoots, writes and edits all of her own work. Additionally, Jennifer produces and anchors the weekend newscasts.

Jennifer covers the Iron Range beat for KBJR. She spends a great deal of her time on the road, stopping at nearby restaurants and coffee shops to send her stories back via a WiFi connection.

Jennifer has covered everything from historic flooding, which hit Duluth just three weeks into the start of her career, to a group of 60-something-year-old women who dressed in “grandma” clothes and dropped in unexpectedly at local bars in an effort to get people to vote.

Prior to working at KBJR, Jennifer was a news director, reporter, producer and anchor at UTVS News, St. Cloud State University’s student-run news station.

During her time as News Director, Jennifer led the station to win two national student television awards.

In addition to her work at UTVS, Jennifer held four internships throughout her college career, including one at WCCO-TV in Minneapolis.
